This year’s Golfing Fore Grads tournament was, once again, a huge success. We filled the tournament with 124 golfers who enjoyed a beautiful day of fun in the sun! The tournament has always been our flagship event and is the main source of fundraising for our scholarships. We were able to raise more than $30,000! We would like to thank the 44 sponsors that helped make this event possible. A special thank you to the TD Bank who stepped up once again and committed to the Title Sponsor valued at $10,000.
With over 35 impressive applications submitted this year, the selection process was more challenging than ever. We are confident however, that the 21 scholarships winners chosen are an excellent representation of “attitude” and each of them expressed to us, their own unique commitment to education.
The Foundation has grown immensely since its inception in 2002 due to the hard work of many people and the generous contributions from within our Northumberland Community and beyond. We are very grateful and hope that each of you know that your support has helped many young adults with their education. With the help of your contributions and the support of groups like the Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation, in the past 5 years, we have awarded 64 scholarships with a combined value of $157,000. We have received great feedback from many of our scholarship winners, many of which note that they would not have been able to attend school without our help.
